Bell Bridge

Also known as SOUTH OROMOCTO RIVER #3

The Bell bridge is a Howe truss design consisting of one span at a length of 37.6m (123' 4") built in 1931

It is located aproximately 7 km west of Hoyt on the Boyne road off rural route 101 .

I set out on a cold winter afternoon to photograph the Bell bridge, the drive out was uneventful ,but as I was setting up my camera and tripod in an opening west of the bridge two deer stepped out of the woods onto the riverbank just down from my location . They weren't long running away when they sensed my presence. The sun was low enough this afternoon giving the perfect lighting to photograph this wonderful old bridge.

  1. Love your photo shots - what river does the Bell Covered bridge go over? I crossed it this morning? Is there trout fishing there? thanks,
